Ontario Housing Affordability Task Force Report Response

 

Many challenges have led to Ontario’s current housing affordability crisis. These impacts continue to have a ripple effect on BIPOC communities. The Housing Affordability Task Force recently released a report, which provides recommendations to address the housing crisis.

 

BPUA has responded to the Housing Affordability Task Force's report and identified several areas of consideration.

Ontario Housing Affordability Task Force Submission

 

BPUA was one of the groups invited to submit a set of recommendations to the Housing Affordability Task Force on December 20, 2021, which we believe would help to increase housing affordability within the Province of Ontario. BPUA submitted a response to the February 8, 2022 Housing Affordability Task Force Report directly to the Minister.

BPUA x OPPI: an ongoing dialogue 

In response to the BPUA Open Letter to the Ontario Professional Planners Institute's (OPPI) Statement on Systemic Anti-Black Racism, on July 30th, 2020, members of the Black Planners and Urbanists Association joined members of OPPI staff and Council for a facilitated session on addressing anti-Black racism in the planning profession.
